I have 'failed to launch' as a solopreneur for 10 years.

Since starting my journey as an associate in various network marketing businesses, to starting and marketing my astrology consultancy, I have learned a lot about how not to do business. What people don't tell you enough of, however, is that failure is not only okay but it's necessary. In fact, you just need to change how you experience failure by nurturing self compassion.

Here's how to nurture self compassion:

  1. Practice self care activities regularly: So-called gurus will tell you to sleep when you're dead but sleep and rest are top self-care activities, for example. So is rigorous exercise or dancing to music.

  2. Challenge and reframe self-critical thoughts: Gen Z gets a bad rap for 'needing a participation medal' in life but here's the thing: sometimes you do! The trick is to give yourself the medal in the form of praise, and not seek it from external sources. Truly do some mirror-self-talk to counter the perpetual negative self-talk that can keep you in the dark alley of life.

  3. Engage in acts of kindness towards yourself: Starting a 30 day challenge? Allow yourself 1 day to miss but not 2 consecutive days. Then hi-five yourself! Completed your workout for the day? Treat yourself to an extra 5 mins in the massage chair at your gym for completing your workout.

See? That wasn't so hard.

There's no one way to nurture self compassion but doing so will improve your mood and outlook!
